Shadow Shot Sunday!

Get out the magnifying glass, get into your best sleuthing clothes and start prowling your environment looking for those wonderful, but sometimes elusive shadows. This fun and challenging meme is hosted each week by Tracy over at Hey Harriet! Click on the link under the blog title and sign up to play!!

When I got up this morning and saw the gray and the rain, I started looking for the color for my day in my summer captures and it was fun, so I'm sharing some of them with you today. Guess that's one of the great things about having file full of the fun, colorful things -- they do lighten up a dark day! Add a little humor and you can put aside the grim things! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

We had a very warm and sunny day yesterday and I used it to run some errands and I guess it was a good choice because fall was waiting for me this morning, sunny but really chilly. Still, that's better than rain -- that comes tomorrow and for the next ten days if the weatherman is correct????

May you all have a wonderful weekend with lots of love and laughter and FUN!!

Sky Watch Friday!

Time to share your skies, the beauty over your world, the clouds, the colors! Sky Watch is hosted each week by  the Sky Watch team of  Sandy, Wren and me. And this week as every week, we remember Klaus and know that he joins us in spirit! Join us and the many people from all over the world who share theirs with us each week! Click on the address under the post title to be taken to the SWF website where you can sign up.

We've had quite a variety of skies this week as summer moved out and fall stepped in! Once again I've spent a lot of time on the roof enjoying the flowers and the skies, the colors, the cloud formations and sunsets. These are the skies I want to share with you today. One in particular -- the next to last photo -- it looked to me as though the trees were cupped palms holding up the setting sun.  It did take my breath away!

Hope your week is going well! Love, laugh, enjoy and be thankful!

The Importance of Correct Spelling and Your Laugh for the Day!

A young monk arrives at the monastery.
He is assigned to helping the other monks
in copying the old canons and laws of the
church by hand.
He notices, however, that all of the monks
are copying from copies, not from the original
manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the
head abbot to question this, pointing out that
if someone made even a small error in the first
copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that
error would be continued in all of the subsequent
copies.
The head monk, says, 'We have been copying
from the copies for centuries, but you make
a good point, my son.'
He goes down into the dark caves underneath
the monastery where the original manuscripts
are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't
been opened for hundreds of years. Hours go
by and nobody sees the old abbot.
So, the young monk gets worried and goes down
to look for him. He sees him banging his head
against the wall and wailing.
"We missed the R !
We missed the R !
We missed the fu%@#ing R !"
His forehead is all bruised and he is
crying uncontrollably. The young monk
asks the old abbot, 'What's wrong, father?'
With a choking voice, the old abbot replies,
'The word was...

Our temperatures have dropped over ten degrees in one day!! But we're still enjoying some sun in between rain storms and lots of wind. Ah, but there are still lots of beautiful flowers in the roof gardens and I'm going to enjoy all that wonderful color for as long as I can -- and I'm sharing some of that wonderful color with you today, along with the things that are always here regardless of the season -- beautiful sunsets and skies and a lovely harbor.

Hope all of you have a wonderful week ahead with lots of love and laughter -- you know, those important things!!

What Can I Say?

What Can I Say?
I'm interested in almost everything. Use to like to travel, but it's too expensive now. I take Tai Chi classes, swim, volunteer in a Jump-start program for pre-schoolers. I'm an avid reader and like nearly everyone these days I follow politics avidly. I'm a former teacher and Special Projects Coordinator for a Telecommunications company, Assistant to the President of a Japanese silicon wafer manufacturing company. Am now enjoying retirement -- most of the time. I have two daughters, one son-in-law and two sons scattered all over the country. No grandchildren.
